As Islands, the UK & Eire are reliant on the efficiency of its marine industry. Caledonia have worked in some of the most challenging environments in Europe to ensure the marine infrastructure is capable of accommodating one of the busiest import/ export sectors of the economy.

Project – Kilronin Harbour Development

Value – £4.4 million Sub sea concrete

Brief – Caledonia were engaged by AMC sub-sea to provide engineering and management services to construct new underwater structures for the installation of the client’s pre-cast concrete harbour wall.

We designed the bespoke shutter system to enable in-situ concrete foundations to be poured to suit the recently drilled and blasted bedrock seabed and provided the temporary works requirements in accordance with BS 5975. We provided further support in the design, temporary works, and engineering to concrete line the existing harbour wall which was in a state of decay.

Caledonia also undertook the contract and commercial management of the project on our client’s behalf. We successfully reduced our client’s commercial exposure with the principal contractor and put the contract back into a profitable position.

Client – AMC Subsea

Services –  Project management. Commercial management. Sub-contractor management. Design management. Temporary works design & coordination
